CG Vyapam Exams See All-Time High Absences
The CG Vyapam PET and PPHT exams this year turned heads for all the wrong reasons. Forget last-minute nerves or morning jam—what stood out was the staggering number of empty seats across test centers. Out of all registered candidates, a sharp 859 skipped the Pre-Engineering Test (PET), while the Pre-Pharmacy Test (PPHT) saw an even bigger no-show list: 1,255 students just never turned up.
The numbers feel especially off because registration wasn’t exactly lackluster. Durg BIT and Science College, for example, had the highest enrollment around with 480 hopefuls signed up. Yet even major centers like these couldn’t escape the wave of absentees.

Why So Many Missed Out?
So what’s driving this sudden spike in absenteeism? Parents and teachers are swapping theories. Some students might have registered for multiple entrance exams nationwide, giving up their CG Vyapam slot if they got through elsewhere. Others could have faced last-minute health issues—think flu season, lingering COVID-19 worries, or even plain stress. The timing of the PET exam session, set from 9:00 AM to 12:15 PM, might look harmless. But for students traveling from remote districts or those depending on unreliable transport, making it on time is half the battle.
There’s also the headache of digital glitches: glitches in admit card downloads, confusion about exam centers, or lack of quick solutions to tech slip-ups. Sometimes, all it takes is one missed SMS or misplaced admit card to keep a student at home despite months of preparation.
The record-breaking CG Vyapam absenteeism has left administrators scrambling for answers. They’re pouring over the data, hoping to find patterns that can prevent a repeat next year. Educators say clearer communication and better transport support could slash future absentee lists. Meanwhile, families and students are left to wonder how many dreams got paused or lost this exam season, and what might change to help more students cross that finish line next time.
